The Art Price List

The Artlien workbook for one price list that pays you in the studio, online and in a gallery

Pricing one painting at a time works until the same size sells for three different prices in three places, or a gallery takes half and the half that is left does not cover the canvas, the frame and the hours. The Art Price List builds the thing a single-piece calculator does not: a price list. Part 1 costs each size you make, runs the gallery test (the lowest price that still covers your cost after the gallery's commission), finds one per-linear-inch multiplier that passes at every size (in the worked studio, $27, giving $975 for a 16 by 20 inch piece), rounds it into clean numbers, keeps one price everywhere, and prices commissions from the list. Part 2 covers consignment terms, raising prices from sell-through, and a yearly review. For artists selling originals; not tax or legal advice. With your purchase comes a personalised sheet that runs your own piece through the gallery test.
