Why the same box score on two teams is identical per game, identical per 36 minutes, and twenty-odd per cent apart per 100 possessions
The Player Efficiency Calculator on this site is honest about its own limit: true PER is pace-adjusted, and that needs numbers the page does not have. So two players with the same points on the same shots in the same minutes get the same rating — even when one team took 106 possessions a game and the other 86.
This site also has a pace calculator. Nothing joins the two, and the difference between those players is not skill. It is the number of chances their teams handed them.
The pack does the joining: the possessions a player was actually on the floor for, the share of them they ended, and every counting stat expressed per 100 — the only unit that survives a change of team. It also shows why per 36 minutes, the adjustment almost everyone reaches for, does not fix pace at all and can report no difference where a large one exists.
None of it needs leaguewide totals, because none of it normalises to a league. It compares two players to each other, which is the question you had.
What’s inside
Why the efficiency calculator and the pace calculator together contain a difference neither can see
How possessions are estimated, and what the 0.44 free-throw coefficient is actually counting
The possessions a player was on the floor for — the denominator every rate statistic needs
Usage rate: the share of a team's possessions a player ended, which no calculator here computes
Per game, per 36 and per 100 side by side, and why two of the three report no difference
Which of the site's efficiency numbers answers which question, and the order to read them in
A worked comparison of two players end to end, from two box scores
An honest page on where every figure here stops being right, including defence
A fill-in sheet — ten lines a player, all of them on a box score
Plus a second PDF, worked out for you
Run one of the free calculators first and buy from that page, and this sheet is computed from your own figures. Buy from here and the pack still arrives complete — the sheet simply has no numbers of yours to work from yet.
14-day refund, no questions asked. If the pack is not what you needed, email support@graburl.com and we refund you in full — you do not have to justify it or delete the file. Full policy.
