The Job Offer Decision Kit
Choose between job offers, or an offer and staying put, on what each pays for the hours it takes: the bonus at its real payout, the match you will actually receive, equity at a discount you choose, and five years of raises in today's dollars
JobWhip's Job Offer Comparison Calculator adds each offer's base, bonus, equity, retirement match, benefits and paid time off and ranks the total. It counts the bonus at its target, equity at face value and paid time off as dollars on top of a salary that already pays for those days, and it has no hours anywhere. The Salary to Hourly Calculator divides by 2,080 hours, as if every week were worked, no evening ran late and the office were next door. This kit sets each offer's pay against the hours it takes. It counts the cash you can bank on (the bonus at its payout history, the match you will actually receive, equity at a discount you choose, your premium and commute cost subtracted) and divides it by the hours you give the job, paid or not, plus the commute. In the worked example the calculator ranks Offer A first by $24,754; per hour given, Offer B pays $3.91 more. Then it runs five years of raises in today's dollars (a 2.5% raise at an example 3% inflation is a 0.49% real cut) and ends with the base at which the offer you prefer ties the other: $107,000 in the example, rounded up, with how it was worked out. Every figure is an example computed by code from the site's own calculators, for you to replace with yours. It is not tax, legal, investment or financial advice, it promises no salary, raise or answer from an employer, and it never suggests claiming an offer you do not have. Included: a 24-page printable kit with 7 steps, an offer sheet, an hours log, a questions sheet, a five-year sheet, two reference tables and a quickstart, plus a personalised sheet worked from the numbers you entered in the calculators.
